Art District within a hotel. In the 133 rooms, including 16 junior suites, 1 suite with sea view and 1 presidential suite, in addition to 17 author’s rooms,
art and design lend each space an identity of its own. Staying here is almost like visiting a gallery, where every nook and cranny reveals surprising works by young artists. The presidential suite exhibits the works of
Nadir Afonso, one of Portugal’s most prominent painters of the 20th and 21st centuries.

Rooms have a double bed or 2 single beds and are decorated by resident or guest artists of the Citadel Art District. Each room invites you to a personal experience of their identity. The participating artists are: Ana Perez Quiroga, Paulo Arraiano, Paulo Brighenti, Pedro Matos, Susana Anágua and Hugo Israel. Some rooms have a balcony overlooking the Fortress. Junior Family Suite
Located on the ground floor, in the most historic part of the Fortress and of an ample size. With 2 single beds or 1 double bed, these rooms are located on the ground floor, in the most historic part of the Fortress. Suite 244 is one of the most premium in the entire hotel. Located on the 2nd floor and facing the sea, it features 2 huge balconies overlooking the Cascais Marina and the blue Atlantic. The special and unique decoration was designed in detail by El Corte Inglés with the theme "Golden Sea". The Decor Studio team (El Corte Inglés’ decoration studio) selected tones that are reminiscent of a peaceful day spent at the beach. Natural maritime details, such as shells and coral, are present in all areas. The 2 bathrooms (shower and bath) also have sea views. The VIP Treatment continues throughout the stay and guests are also served a surprise from the chef. The room features an espresso coffee machine, air conditioning, a safe, and free Wi-Fi. The suite accommodates up to 3 adults or 2 adults + 1 child/baby.
Presidential Suite
Overlooking the main square of the Fortress
The Presidential Suite, located on the 2nd floor of the building and overlooking Fortaleza's main square, is an ode to Nadir Afonso. The harmonious artistic decor of this room, featuring grey and white as background colours, pays tribute to this renowned Portuguese architect and painter, who worked with great names such as Le Corbusier and Oscar Niemeyer, in addition to Victor Vasarely, Fernand Léger, August Herbin and André Bloc.
The suite comprises a living room and a bedroom with a double bed and a closet, as well as two bathrooms, one with a bathtub and the other with a shower. It also features a safe, air conditioning, free Wi-Fi and an espresso coffee machine. The VIP treatment provided to this room is 24/7 and guests are also served a surprise prepared by the Chef.
